Tasting - Cardinale American Sweet Red

  • Cardinale American Sweet Red
  • Varietal Red Blend
  • Inland Empire Region
  • USA
  • Started in 1967
  • Cost $10.99

The Cardinale American Sweet Red wine was started in San Antonio, Los Angeles California, USA. This red wine has a very oak flavor as well as a lot of berry hints/ and smelled and tasted a lot like juice. This wine is a varietal red blend, made from one type of red grape.

1967 was when the company Cardinale came out with their first wine. This wine has since been modified and has made 3 more other flavors. However, this specific bottle we tried, we could not find out the date that this wine was bottled. What I found was that this wine is from the Inland Empire region, which is the region that San Antonio, Los Angeles California is in.

In my own personal review, this wine was not great and was too sweet for my tastes. I prefer my darker more dry wines, and this wine was very sweet and had a lot of berry flavors. This wine would pair very well with desserts like chocolate cake or pie.

A lot of reviews that I found on this wine was that it was too sweet and tasted like grape juice. Many of the reviews state that it is not good grape juice. However, there are a few reviews that state that this wine is great and has no major flaws.

The Wine Folly website doesn't really have anything on this wine at all. I tried to search it but couldn't fine the brand.
